These Pressing Moments
They were laughing
Sitting as close to eachother as they could
Their knees pressed deeply
I am you
I am so you
They felt like twins
A double yolk
A body of laughter
Connected precisely in the center of a lake
Of rippling genius
But soon they grew distant
Two trees standing adjacent, but rings apart
Their roots winding like thirsty bamboo
I am not you
I am so not you
They felt like siblings
Evaporating years
A hollow sound that bellows across a frozen lake
dispersing into the winter air
Still,
He caught the fine light in her hair
And she, his creases... smiling
Their knuckle bones touched
And white light crowded their room with stars
AGAIN
Like magic that comes
IN round open mouths of awe
I AM you, she concured
With the years ahead of me
And I AM you, he knodded
With the years behind me
Sitting as close to eachother as they could
Their knees pressed deeply
I am you
I am so you
They felt like twins
A double yolk
A body of laughter
Connected precisely in the center of a lake
Of rippling genius
But soon they grew distant
Two trees standing adjacent, but rings apart
Their roots winding like thirsty bamboo
I am not you
I am so not you
They felt like siblings
Evaporating years
A hollow sound that bellows across a frozen lake
dispersing into the winter air
Still,
He caught the fine light in her hair
And she, his creases... smiling
Their knuckle bones touched
And white light crowded their room with stars
AGAIN
Like magic that comes
IN round open mouths of awe
I AM you, she concured
With the years ahead of me
And I AM you, he knodded
With the years behind me
It all began with a Raspberry Starfish...
