Visitor

I know he'll run astray
But, I'll invite him in anyway
Tantalizing fate
Plucking rose petals like butterfly wings
Until my heart is exposed
And there is nothing more he wants
His evaporated desire
Proceeds back to the door
Invisible
Transparent, his hand turns the knob
As I sleep
Dreaming of walking down stairs
A door closing, echoing around my heart
As once again the gate is locked
With an inspirational justice
Protecting my naked soul from love!
So he runs astray, just as I thought
Into that world
Of vast, shadowing strangers
And all the while, I'll sleep (sleep)
Until he knocks again...
