Haunting Eyes

With a heart full of tears,
She walked eleven blocks
Passing the horse and carriage area
In Central park
She wept inside
As she passed each horse
They all looked at her
With haunting eyes
They had an exhausted look
Their smooth bodies had sunken in places
From where their harnesses attatched
The leather had worn grooves into them
She thought,
If only she could save each horse
And purchase a lovely bit of land
With stone walls, and lush grass
And set all of these horses free
They would never pull carriages again
And their eyes would tell different stories
I'm so sorry
Beautiful,
Beautiful
Horses
It all began with a Raspberry Starfish...
