Silence is Not Deafening
When your heart forgot...
And our world narrowed
Words escaped us
As we joined the silent hall
Of dying lovers
Whose last hand holding ceased
Within consequence
And music was abandoned for longing
Standing motionless in the middle of the dance
Shadows cast upon my profile
Forgetting you once, with every movement
My body remembered you twice
Still, I loved you
Those seasons haunted me
As I crept through our memories
Like a starving child stealing bread crumbs
My heart remembered passion
Turned it's thick pages deep into the nightfall
Until restlessness succumbed to sleep
The world became my oracle, daily
The trees took their course upon me
Reached out with their limbs, whispered
Their children at my feet
I tread softly through the leaves
Years comforted me,
Spring bulbs
Coveted within the solid Winter earth
Music returned to me,
And I danced again
But, the opposite face was never yours
How could such a love as ours ever die?
Other souls wait lifetimes for such passion
We possessed it instantly
It was too precious to let die
And so, it lived
Within it's own painful consequent
When Beethoven was stricken deaf
Did the music within him, cease?
My heart never forgot...
And our world narrowed
Words escaped us
As we joined the silent hall
Of dying lovers
Whose last hand holding ceased
Within consequence
And music was abandoned for longing
Standing motionless in the middle of the dance
Shadows cast upon my profile

When Beethoven was stricken deaf
Did the music within him, cease?
My heart never forgot...
It all began with a Raspberry Starfish...
