Where Belonging Waits

Always it rests
Just beyond the tip
Of my furthest reach
Come Home
(I've heard those words, before)
But not spoken to me
Where is it, I wonder
Where is that little space
That crevice of mine
Flowing by large windows
Capturing bits of sunlight in my hair
My Belonging
I whisper, Take me
Take me there
That spiral staircase
My climbing thoughts
Is it you, I ask
Oh, tell me, is it you?
Within these arms of yours?
He tells me, within his own silence
(No, I am sorry
I can only offer pockets of it)
Oh, I tremble, with understanding
Where is it?
Tell me that it isn't
A cut patch of Earth
No.
Tell me that it is within
The rain
Or
Gossamer whispers
And hearing my name
A thousand times
That it is whole,
And remarkable
Like falling stars
Which descend into the ocean
Grow tails, and learn to swim
Tell me,
That it waits
That it's soul purpose is written
And as I forge ahead
one day,
A day I should forget to reach
It instead, beckons to me
And scoops me up in it's arms
And holds me
For the life of my entire being,
Belonging takes hold
And refuses to let me go!
It all began with a Raspberry Starfish...
